We are in Bryceville Florida tonight. We had planned on staying here for three nights, but I think both Bob and I are ready to get to Bowling Green. We may leave for Bowling Green tomorrow.

We travelled to South Carolina on Saturday and are staying at a campground called Camp Lake Jasper in Hardeeville SC. It is very nice here.

Yesterday we toured four houses in Sun City Hilton Head. They were nice, but Sun City is much smaller than The Villages and Hurricanes are a real concern. We drove over to Hilton Head and had lunch. Expensive, and not much to see.

Today we went to Arlington Cemetery and found the graves for Stephen Bixler and George Stolinas. Then we toured the US Capitol building which was very impressive. Got back to the trailer around 7:00 p.m. It will be an early night tonight!

We also visited George Stolinas' grave. George grew up in Suffield and was a verteran of the Vietnam War. He was a special friend. George was infantry and said that the sound of a helicopter was the sound of rescue. While we were there, a helicopter flew over and the idea that helicopters regularly fly over the cemetery is comforting.

Spent the day in Washington DC. We went to the Spy Museum which was excellent! We highly recommend it. It was pretty easy to get around on the subway.

Nov 9, 2019

Woke up this morning to 27 degree cold. We are nice an warm though. Today we visited Bob's neice Debbie and her daughter, Meredith. We had a nice lunch at a local diner in West Virginia. It is supposed to be warmer tomorrow and I think we will take a trip into Washington DC.

We travelled to Little Bennet Campground in Clarksburg, MD today. It was an uneventful trip except for the snow flurries we saw. AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

The campground is a county facility and very nice except the bath houses aren't heated. Oh well, we have a shower in the trailer. We just have to clear it out.

We met Bruce and Patience for lunch with Bruce and Patience and a very nice visit! Bethlehem seems to be a busy place! Thank you, Bruce and Patience, for a pleasant lunch!

Nov 6, 2019

Blast off! We are on the road again! We had breakfast with Dad at The Bissell House and were travelling by 10:30. We headed for Bethlehem, PA to visit my cousin Bruce and his wife Patience.

We are staying at a Moyer's Lake Campground in Coopersberg, PA. The campground is very run down and unkept. The campsites are small and unmarked, with lots of trees. It was probably a tent campground when it opened. The few sites that have water and/or electric are not in good shape, with utilities nailed to trees. Branches are very low and corners tight, so we weren't able to drive back to the sites. We parked in the parking area and stretched an electric cord over to an outlet and hoped it was live. There is a guy who looks like he is down on his luck living in a tent and another lady staying in a pop-up trailer covered with tarps.

The owner of the campground seems very nice, and she offered us an extra hose to connect to water, but we declined. We won't be staying long. The owner seems to be very hard-working.

State map   We got Maryland on this trip!
